Yesterday was a ton of fun! We held our New Moon ritual yesterday afternoon. It was funny...the ritual we ended up doing wasn't at all what I'd had planned. I had planned to lead a meditation about new beginnings, but around 11:30 am (with ritual set to begin at 3:00 pm), the ritual sort of rewrote itself in my head...really fast. So we ended up doing some spell work instead. We made "planting bags" using flowery, springtime material. I picked out 5 herbs and 2 types of stones that all had to do with success, fertility and growth. We also included some sandalwood beads for protection and deity connection. Then we added bird seed. Each sprinkle of seed was to represent something that we were "planting" in our lives that we would work on over the spring and summer growing season and would like to "harvest" in the fall...at harvest time of course.
An example would be one of Ayla's seeds. She and Matt are beginning now to house hunt. They're going to spend the spring and summer finding what they want, doing all the paperwork and such...and hope to be moving in to a new place at the end of September. So she planted her magickal seeds to add energies to this process, to guarantee that they find the perfect house and the process will be smooth, and that they'll be able to move in when they planned...which would be the harvest.
We then held the completed bags and chanted the following three times:
Wishing seeds we charge this day
To draw these blessings now our way
Seeds we plant on New Moon night
Grow for us what is good and right
As we will, so shall it be
By the power of the three
Maiden, Mother and the Crone
Dwell within our hearts and home
We then asked the elements and deity to add their energy to that of our circle (which oddly enough felt like a soap bubble yesterday). We pulled energy from the circle to charge our bags and we will now put them where we can see them every day...to remind us to put both magickal and mundane energies into our "gardens" in order to harvest a bountiful crop from them, which we will then celebrate at October's Full Moon ritual.
Mine is on my computer desk of course so I can see it every day to remind me. Most of what I planted has to do with my new life plan. I planted seeds of willpower, good health, weight loss, etc.
After ritual, we had a little birthday party for Ayla. I had bought this really colorful cake for her and J brought a fruit platter. Dad had cake with us as well since his birthday was last week. Well...what he said was something along the lines of being able to make room for cake any time. And Alexi came over around 4:30 pm (she had a mentoring appointment set for 5:00) so she could visit with everyone and share some cake with us.
Yep...I got to have cake again. I ate a small piece...it was really TOO sweet so I didn't want very much. Of course, I had to eat mostly fat-free stuff for the rest of the evening, but that's relatively easy to do now that I know how.
The mentoring session with Alexi ended up being more of a gab session, but that's okie dokie with me. She's doing a lot of really good work right now...decluttering her life in more ways than just cleaning her physical house, although she's done that as well. Apparently she's had a mound...about 4 foot tall...of laundry that's been sitting in her bedroom floor for almost 2 years. She's been just pulling out what they need, but the majority of the mound stayed put. Well...she now has a clean floor in there because she washed it all this week.
How does one leave a mound of dirty laundry sitting for 2 years? A stack of books or magazines...I can see that. Maybe a pile of toys...I can even see that. But LAUNDRY?!? For 2 YEARS?!? Geez Louise! THAT I can't see.
Anywho...the rest of the evening was spent adding tons of things to my movie queue and watching one of my Netflix arrivals...a movie called "Once". It's a little independent music film that was done with no script and the actors wrote and performed all the songs in it. I expected it to be one of those mind-numbing, time filling pieces...but was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying it immensely. And the music was excellent!! If they had a soundtrack CD, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Time for cereal, morning pills, and playing online for about another 30 minutes...then I have a date with Richard Simmons for an hour.
Oh yeah...I made a promise to princesscee that I'm going to post here as well. If she meets the goal her doctor set for her....
I'm going to find a cheerleader's outfit, put it on, take pictures...and post them here just for her. I'll find me some pompoms and everything.
Rah Rah!
*grin*
Ciao.
